Once there was a an artist and designer who was learning to sculpt. And for this sculpturing he did some drawings. He'd always done drawings really but not for any particular reason. Mostly on paper and long since thrown away. This time though there was something to it that at least part of him liked. The artist keep doing this drawing nonsense for so long that it took over and his ego split.
When he first moved into illustration he did things that looked like this…
And this:
Or this!
When this alter ego grew old enough to buy an ipad, he started to do line work that looked a bit more like this
Some that went on adventures to far off places like this:
And some that danced like this!
Even a title screen or two that looked like this…
Until one day he went a little bid delirious working on a book. Frustrated with blend modes, he began swiping randomly and when he came to he only made pictures in the style you're mostly here with now.
It's fun, he likes it and you can even make cultural references for fancy people presented to them as if they we're children. Oh boy!
You can do whimsical things this way.
You can make Hitchcock frames for kids if you want.
And you can tire of it and turn the blend modes off and still use the blobby solid monoline whenever you like and that's nice too.
We'll okay, that about does it then…
